On a sweltering August day in Korea, a U marine place himself in a fill of people, wildly cheering the last of World War II and their liberation from 35 years of Japanese occupation. Spotting a solitary child in danger of getting trampled in the horde he scooped the six-year- old lad in his arms and carried him to a stain safe from the frenzy. Before rejoining the celebration, the soldier gave the child a piece of chocolate and a smile. It was at that consideration that the boy decided that common day he would live in America.
